Girl's Night Out

A couple of my friends were in town from California for the holidays so we decided to have a little get together last week. We met downtown at The Lion House for a yummy dinner, fabulous conversation and lots of laughter. My friend Jen brought her newborn, Aidan, who was the star of the night. Nothing like a large group of women to oooh and awwww over a baby.

One of the chefs brought us this pan of amazing raspberry orange pull apart things. They were to die for!!! I think he thought if he gave us more to eat we'd be quiet and leave! It didn't work out that way though. They also brought us each a dozen rolls before we left. They were so nice and patient with us!!!

After we left The Lion House we wandered through Temple Square and gazed at the lights. It was snowing lightly- it was beautiful!!

It's amazing to me how therapeutic a girl's night out can be. I didn't even realize I needed it but I felt so much better about a lot of things when the night was over. Thanks Gals!!! Love you!!!

Thankful Thursday

The Stockings were hung...

Janelle has been asking me to bring a stocking to work for the last couple of weeks so that her stocking wasn't the only one hanging on our door. I've had really good intentions but the stocking just hasn't quite made it to work. This weekend she took matters into her own hands and made me a stocking. It's purple (yay!!!) and has forks on it (she knows me so well!!!)Now do you all see why I think I have the best boss ever?!?!!?!

They are comfy.

2.What’s your favorite thing about the people you work with (or the people you go to school with)?I can't a favorite thing about them- there are too many amazing things to list. Seriously I have the best co-workers, I’m very blessed.

The changing seasons

4. What’s your favorite thing about Friday?That the next day is Saturday which means I get to sleep in.

5. What’s your favorite thing about the year coming to an end?
I get to wish Carrie and Kara happy birthday (they are both New Year’s Eve babies)

I have an artificial tree. It’s doesn’t require watering, it doesn’t loose its needles all over the floor, it isn’t a fire hazard and it already has the lights on it- it's a beautiful thing!

Nope. I’m a terrible neighbor!

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for:

• Wandering around Smith's Marketplace looking at everything and just being silly.
• Little girls that get excited about decorating a tree and declare every ornament "So Cute!!!"
• Chocolate Surprise Cake and Peppermint Ice Cream
• The majority of the construction being done on Riverdale Road.
• Treat day
• TwilightMOMS- yesterday was my one year anniversary at the site. I had no clue how my life would change by finding it. So many opportunities have come my way and I have made friends all over the world because of the site and I am so thankful for it.

Caramel Goodness

No Twilight Tuesday post for me today- I'm still in shock about Catherine Hardwicke not returning to direct New Moon. I can't really even put my thoughts about it into words yet. Lisa did a great job though so if you really want to read about Twilight check out her blog here.

At work we decided that instead of giving Christmas gifts we were going to have treat day. Everyone is bringing treats tomorrow and we are just going to eat until we are sick. There will be no point totals or calorie counting. My contribution is caramel popcorn.

I started out with 1 1/2 cups of unpopped popcorn, added a few ingredients-

Get rid of the old maid's by using Bonnie's trick.

Boiled them all together

and ended up with this pile of caramel yumminess- mmmm....mmmm... good!!!

Food for Thought Friday

Breakfast
What is your favorite time of day and why?
I’m a night person. I’m much more productive then. I hate mornings- hate, hate, hate them!!!!

Lunch
If you could find anything under your Christmas tree this year, what would it be?
A college degree

Dinner
Would you want to know when you were going to die?
I don’t thinks so. I know it would be nice to be able to say goodbyes to my loved ones but I think it would be harder to live life with a specific deadline looming ahead.

Midnight Snack
If someone gives you a Christmas gift that you weren't expecting to, do you give them one in return even though you didn't plan on it?
If I can make it look like I had a gift for them all along I do. If I can’t pull that off I just tell them thank you and add them to my shopping list for next year.

Thankful Thursday

I'm going to try to continue with Thankful Thursdays even though November is over. This week I am thankful for-

• All the birthday love I received. I was going to try to let it slip by but between my family, my co-workers and all my on-line friends that didn't work out very well. They turned what would have been a very boring day into something special.
• My I-tunes gift cards I got from Amanda and Amanda- they know me so well :)
• Ibuprofen
• School being over for the semester
• Chick-flicks (I watched quite a few last weekend and they just make me happy)

Twilight Tuesday- The Party of the Year!

On November 21st we held the biggest Twilight party east of the LA Premiere. It was at the Megaplex in South Jordan-

These were the party planners~ Team Alice~ (notice the lovely pink jackets)

These are amazing women!!! This was a completely volunteer effort with hundreds of hours being dedicated to this party. I am in awe of them!!!!

Here are just a few highlights~

There were goody bags- lots and lots and lots of goody bags.

A few members of the cast dropped by for a few pictures ;)

There were charity drives- Alex's Lemonade Stand and the Utah Food Bank.

There was a dazzle booth (so anyone can sparkle like a vampire)

Character Look-a-likes (some of them even had topaz eyes)

There were Twilight posters for everyone.

There was so much more that I don't have pictures of- Coven Feud, Twilight Pictionary, Trivia games, the Cullen's living room (complete with a baby grand piano), and almost 1000 people watching Twilight.

It was a wild and crazy night and great memories were made. We had such a blast! We woke up the next morning with the great news that New Moon has been green lit by Summit so we will be partying again for New Moon's release. Woo-hoo!!!!
