Rylee's Baptism and Thanksgiving Part One

On Saturday October 20th (Yes, I know I'm slow getting this posted) Rylee was baptized. This was our first big family gathering without Scott and he was dearly missed. Rylee was baptized by Zeke and confirmed by Uncle Mark.

After the baptism we had a big turkey dinner at the church. We weren't going to all be together for Thanksgiving so I counted this as Thanksgiving part one :)

This week's Friday Five topic from Eve's Fan Garden:

This week we are talking romance! We want to know what are your Top Five Romance filled books, movies, TV shows! We are talking just DRIPPING with sappy, love filled romance!

I'm not usually a really sappy person but I do love a good romance every once in a while so here's my list.


1. Pride and Prejudice

*sigh* The book and the movies are just classic romance. There's nothing better then spending an afternoon getting lost in Jane Austen's story.

Where the heck is my Mr. Darcy?!!?

2. The Holiday- I can't put into words how much I love this movie. It's one of my all time favorites, it's the perfect combination of sappy romance and humor. I cry every time I watch it.

3. So She Dances by Josh Groban- Oh my goodness! This song is definitely the epitome of sappy and romance and I love it! It's so not my style but it turns me to mush every time I hear it.



4. The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Wanda and Ian- need I say more?

5. Ever After- A version of the Cinderella story that is so much better than the original! I LOVE this movie! It makes my heart melt every time I watch it.

Friday Five

Places you want to travel

This list is hard for me to keep to just five because I love to travel. If I listed all the places I want to go to this blog post would never end.

1. Prince Edward Island

I've mentioned several times that I love the Anne of Green Gables series. That series is set on a little island in Eastern Canada called Prince Edward Island. I've been dreaming of going there ever since I read the first book. Mom and I are talking about going next year- hopefully it will all work out and we will actually get there.

2. Greece

Every time I watch a movie that is set in Greece I promise myself that I will get there one day. I want to stand in the Acropolis and just soak in the thousands of years worth of history. I want to go to the little villages set on the hillside and look out on the blue sea.

3. Alaska

I know Alaska doesn't seem to be my type of vacation spot because I'm not real outdoorsy but I want to go and see the glaciers and the wildlife and the northern lights. I think most of those things can be accomplished without having to camp ;)



4. Holland

I still haven't figured out how I lived within a couple of hours of Holland and never went there. I know we planned to go a couple of times but something always came up :( I want to go to the Keukenhof, see the windmills and eat warm stroopwaffles from a street vendor.

5. Scotland & Ireland

I realize that these are two very separate countries but if I'm making a trip of that distance I would probably combine the two into one long trip so they get to count as only one destination. (Yes, I know I'm cheating but it's my blog so I can if I want to.) The green hills, the foggy moors, the shaggy cows and sheep- I want to see it all!

Halloween 2010

Our annual Halloween bash started with that traditional trunk or treat at Mark and Kathy's church parking lot. Sadly Mother Nature didn't cooperate and a torrential downpour started about 20 minutes into the trunk or treat. We headed to Zeke & Amanda's for pizza and donuts. Luckily the rain quit so the kids were able to go trick or treating around the neighborhood. Here are some pictures from the night.

The family party was on Saturday the 30th. On Halloween I went to Christy's for dinner and games. We had dinner in a pumpkin, it was delicious!!

After dinner we played Apples to Apples. I got my butt kicked!! I only got one green card the whole night :(

It was a fabulous night and the perfect ending to the holiday weekend.
