Twilight Tuesday

3 Days!!!!!!! Can you believe it's almost here?!?!? Are you following the Breaking Dawn Quote of the Day? They are killing me!!!

Stephenie revealed the only spoiler she is comfortable with the public knowing before the Breaking Dawn release to Entertainment Weekly. If you want to read it go here.

Comic-Con was last week and Twilight was the biggest thing there! People were blown away by the fan turn out for this movie. There is way too much information for me to post it all... if you really want to get all that info I would suggest googling Twilight and Comic-Con and then prepare to be overwhelmed by all the information.

My check engine light is my mortal enemy. It won't go away!!!! It was off for a whole week and then after Ben spent an entire day working on the stupid car it reappeared!! Grrrr!!!

Twilight Tuesday

I want to like Rosalie. I really, really want to like her. I love Emmett and I don't think he would love her if she wasn't deserving of his love. I am hoping that she will have a big part in the Breaking Dawn plot and I will finally be able to see her redeeming qualities.

Why am I rambling about Rosalie? Well, this week's MTV Twilight Tuesday features Nikki Reed, who is playing Rosalie in the movie. You can read the article here. Watch the interview with her here-

Isn't that a great interview? I really liked it. I think she's gorgeous and will do a fantastic job playing Rosalie.

While we're on the topic of Rosalie/Nikki- look at this picture from the movie. Doesn't she look amazing??!?!?! Her topaz eyes look so cool!

Shori's Blessing

This weekend Mom, Dad and I made a quick trip to Denver for Shori's blessing. Mom is a morning person and is still on Italy time so we hit the road before dawn (5:45 am- yikes!!!). We arrived in Denver in early afternoon, checked into our hotel and headed over to Leif and Laura's.

We hung out for a while, went to dinner and then hung out some more. Of course the whole time we were passing around Miss Shori and ooohing and awwwing over her. She's a doll! She's starting to smile and coo. So cute!!! Here are some random pictures of the weekend-

On Sunday afternoon we went to church for the blessing. Shori was blessed in Laura's blessing dress. It was so special that she was able to be blessed in her mother's dress.

After the blessing we headed over to Lyn's house for lunch. Lyn is Laura's Mom. Her brothers and nephews were there too. It was really fun to visit with them. While we were there we took a bunch of family pictures.

After lunch Mom, Dad and the boys headed for Panguitch. Leif dropped me off at the airport and I flew home. It was so nice to be able to fly home instead of driving.

It was a fast trip but it was worth it to be able to finally meet Shori, see the family and be there for her blessing.

There are no words...

Remember how I told you that the High Definition Trailer for Twilight would be out today?!?!? Oh My Goodness!!! This is incredible!! Don't forget to breathe while watching it over and over and over again...

(It may take a minute to come up... I think the entire world is watching it. Be patient, it's worth it, I promise.)

Twilight Tuesday

Oh my goodness!! What a Twilight filled day! Are you ready????

First I need to address the things that I'm sure have been keeping you all up at night.
1. I found a store having a midnight release party in Cedar City. Mountain West Bookstore is having a party and I'm on their list. Whew!
2. I found a great airfare to LA for the Breaking Dawn Concert. My friends Lisa and Amy and I are headed out Thursday the 7th and come back on the 9th. We figured if we were headed to LA we need to play a little bit while we're there.
3. I'm going to start re-reading the series in preparation for Breaking Dawn- anyone want to join me? (I know, I know- I'm a dork!!!)

I'm sure you're all breathing a little easier now so I'll move on to the meatier stuff-

The funny thing about this clip is that I know the woman that he's talking about with the baby and his facts are not quite right. It took place in LA not Oregon, she gave her baby to Nikki Reed who is playing Rosalie and it was only after Nikki offered to take the baby to get pictures taken with Robert and Kristen. She's not some neglectful fan crazed mother like he makes her sound.

Entertainment Tonight broadcast the new Twilight Trailer tonight-

This isn't the best quality and I really wanted the guy to stop talking so I could just watch but it's worth watching- I promise!!! The high resolution trailer is supposed to be posted on Yahoo Movies on Thursday. I'm sure it will be making an appearance here at some point.

Girl's Weekend Getaway

For Christmas last year my Aunt Kathy bought all the girls tickets to a performance of High School Musical at Tuacahn. When she gave us the tickets it seemed like a really long time until the show but suddenly the weekend was upon us.

After some last minute cancellations and additions our group consisted of Kathy, Bonnie, Katie, Amanda, Maggie, Rachel, Erin, Lyn, Ora and myself. We began the trek to St. George Saturday morning, finally arriving about 3:30. After a quick dip in the pool we headed to Cafe Rio for dinner. Then we headed out to Tuacahn. Just as we arrived we were hit by a monsoon type rain storm, the heavens just opened up. It was really cool to watch although it wasn't as much fun to run through. Luckily for us the play was not one of Tuacahn's outdoor shows. It was inside the high school for performing arts that is there. The play was really fun. I hadn't seen HSM so it was good to finally see what all the hoopla is about. The girls loved it! They had the opportunity to meet some of the cast afterwards and that was really exciting for them. After the show we stopped at Nielsen's for a frozen custard. There's nothing like a bumbleberry concrete- YUM!!!!

We got back to the hotel and we all crashed- it had been a long day. The next morning Kathy, Ora and Lyn headed north pretty early but the rest of us lounged around, played in the pool and hot tub and slowly got ready to go. We got packed up, stopped at Iceberg for lunch and headed home. We did stop at Grandma Moody's quickly on the way home to visit but we were all anxious to get home so we didn't stay long.

It was a fun little weekend getaway, one which will always be remembered! Thanks Kathy for the great idea and the tickets!! Here are a few pictures of our fun times-

Twilight (not on a) Tuesday

Remember how I said that if something cool happened in the Twilight World that I didn't have to wait until Tuesday to post it? Well, it's happened.... the newest edition of Entertainment Weekly hit newsstands today and guess who's on the cover? Yup! The Twilight folks!!

Don't forget that you should never judge a book by it's cover. I'm not a huge fan of this cover picture, it is very un-Edward and Bella-ish, but these others are inside-

Twilight Tuesday

24 days.... 24 days.... 24 DAYS!!! I can't believe Breaking Dawn will be out in 24 days!! Oh my goodness!! I'm excited and nervous and scared- how will it end? Stephenie Meyer has promised everything will be tied up into a neat little bow but how wild of a ride will we have to go on to get to that neat little bow?!?!? I'm going to be in Panguitch for a reunion that weekend so I have got to figure out if there is a midnight release party in Cedar City on the night of the first so I can get a copy of it as soon as it's available. I know that there won't be an for sale at midnight in Panguitch so I'll have to go to Cedar City.

Stephenie's publishing company will be publishing The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide and Twilight: The Illustrated Movie Companion later this year. Yay! More things to feed the obsession!! All details are on their website.

That's all I've got for Twilight Tuesday tonight. I know it's not that exciting but things are kind of quiet. I think everyone is holding their breathe until Breaking Dawn comes out. It's kind of like the calm before the storm.

Loathing- unadulterated loathing...

I loathe ironing. I hate it with the heat of a thousand suns. I makes me want to pull all of my hair out of my head. Because of this hatred I let it pile up until I run out of things to wear to work that don't have to be ironed. When I reach that point I pull out the board and iron, pop in a movie and start to work. It usually takes me the whole movie to get through all of the ironing because I'm really slow at it. Last night I couldn't put it off any longer. I put in My Best Friend's Wedding and started to work. I started with this- And ended with this-You would think this would give me a sense of accomplishment but it doesn't. Do you want to know why? Because as soon as I put one of those shirts on within minutes it will be wrinkled. All it will take is getting in my car and putting on my seat belt for all my work to be in vain. Do you see what I mean about this being an evil chore?
(fyi-the title of my post comes from a song from Wicked- What is this Feeling?)

A Festive Fourth

I love the Fourth of July. I love all the festivities involved in the day. We started the day at the Riverdale parade. Riverdale does a lot for their Old Glory Days which is perfect for us because everything is within walking distance. The Riverdale parade is a small parade with lots of candy, which is what the kids love. Once again I took way too many pictures so I've tried to weed it down to just a few-

After the parade we walked home and just hung around for the afternoon. I did get a nap in, which was an added bonus to the day. The afternoon was spent watching the kids play in the pool and visiting. Everyone gathered at our house for a bar-b-que and birthday party for Erin and Bonnie.

When it was starting to get dark we headed to Riverdale park for the fireworks show. Riverdale really puts on a great firework show. We had a little time to kill before the show actually started and of course I took pictures of the silliness.

What a fabulous day it was. I hope everyone had a great Independence Day!!!

Land that I love

I'm a patriotic sap. So it's no big surprise that I love everything about the 4th of July-flags, parades, bbq's and fireworks. We're doing all of those things, which I will blog about sometime this weekend, but for now I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Independence Day!!!

The Bucket List

I hate Jack Nicholson. I don't think he's a good actor and he creeps me out so I just don't see movies with him in them. I had so many people tell me how much they loved The Bucket List that I put my prejudice aside and rented it.

What a fantastic movie! It's the story of two men with terminal cancer that make a list of things they want to do before they kick the bucket. Along the way while on their adventures they both learn what is really important in life. It's a very touching story without being sappy. Just as a warning- you may want to have a few kleenex handy.

Morgan Freeman is amazing in his role as Carter. When isn't he amazing?!!? Sean Hayes plays the assistant "Thomas" perfectly. I even liked Jack Nicholson's Edward in the end. This doesn't mean I'm going to run out and rent all his other movies but I did like him in The Bucket List. This is definetly a movie I will be adding to my library.
