Manic Monday

I woke up this morning with a lovely allergy induced sinus headache. I popped a couple of these babies and crawled back in bed.
After giving the Tylenol Sinus ample time to work it's magic I got back out of bed. I showered and then went into the living room to dry my hair. (I know it's weird that I blow dry my hair in the living room but my bathroom gets too hot if I blow dry it there.) As I stepped over to where my hair dryer was laying my feet squished into the carpet. I say they squished because that is the noise that was made when the water was pushed out of the carpet. Ummmm... not good!!

Now this is not the first time I've had water in my apartment. I live in a basement apartment so it's not that unusual. What was unusual was where in the apartment it was. It's always been in the back hallway before not in the living room. I couldn't see where the water was coming in so I did what every other single girl would do- called for reinforcements! Since Zeke and Amanda are on the other side of the world in New Zealand (great timing guys!) I called Ben for help. Thank goodness he works nights so he was home during the day. While I was waiting for him to come over I broke out the Shop-Vac and started sucking up some of the water.

When Ben got here he ripped up the carpet to see if he could figure out where the water was coming from. He couldn't pinpoint the source of the deluge so he called his Dad for back-up.

As we were waiting for Mark I told Ben that I had watered the lawn last night according to the watering schedule that Amanda left for me. He thought maybe that was the problem so he turned the sprinklers on- sure enough water started gushing in. Mystery solved!! He and Mark replaced the sprinkler head and all is well. My heroes!!! Thanks guys for rescuing this damsel in distress!!!

What do you all think of my new living room arrangement? I'm thinking about changing my major to interior design.
